More than a quarter of apartments now reserved
At last, The Wool House is visible from all angles. With the remaining scaffolding all but dismantled last week, the fine brickwork design and architectural detailing of this iconic luxury 45 apartment development on Gilesgate can now be fully appreciated.
A quarter of the apartments are now reserved with demand expected to increase steadily once construction is finally completed within the few months. An announcement will be made in the New Year about the anticipated completion date.
The show apartment has been open to the public since May with accompanied viewings available by arrangement with the appointed agent, YoungsRPS on Priestpopple. Head of Residential, William Thornton, reports that the viewings are proving successful.
“We are showing three or four potential buyers around the show apartment every Thursday and the feedback has been very enthusiastic. Many of our buyers are looking to downsize and have expressed surprise and delight with the proportions of the show apartment, which features two bedrooms, an ensuite, family bathroom, spacious hall and an open-plan, kitchen/diner and living space.
“One of the bonuses of this building is the fact that no two apartments are completely the same so for those who are able to reserve their apartment as soon as possible, there is still the opportunity to pick the one that ticks all your boxes.
“There are one and two-bedroom apartments, duplexes and penthouse apartments over six floors with seven repeated styles and fourteen one-off apartment types.
“Floors one to five feature a range of one and two-bedroom apartments, some with French doors and Juliet balconies, while others have patios or terraced areas. On floor six are the penthouse apartments. The views from Haugh Lane benefit from an outlook across the valley and the Gilesgate aspect looks onto gardens, or south, to Hexham Abbey and the town centre.”
Bob Skelly, development director, added:
“All the interiors have been designed by Dakota, House of Design, a Newcastle-based award-winning interior design consultancy which delivers interiors projects nationally and internationally and its team has worked very closely with us to ensure The Wool House really achieves the wow factor and offers something very different to its competition.
“Also, for buyers looking to downsize or for those who spend time travelling or living abroad for some of the year and want a ‘lock up and go’ home which is easy to run and offers a high degree of security, The Wool House is a perfect choice.”
Other design features include well-planned German-manufactured kitchens by Beckerman and stylish Porcelanosa bathrooms and tiling. On-site parking and electric vehicle charging points are available by separate negotiation and there are also private, landscaped gardens and a secure video entry system.
Prices start at £175k for a one-bed apartment and at £265k for a two-bed apartment.
