Howarth Litchfield, an award-winning architect, based in Durham, and one of the most successful firms in the region, chose to work with Clothier Lacey in 2014.

Established in 1979, the practice has developed year on year and not only has a strong reputation for creating world-class architecture and innovative and memorable interiors, but it is also highly regarded for its heritage expertise, building surveying team and CDM work.

As the firm emerged from recession, and with neither Howarth or Litchfield with the practice any longer, the directors felt it was time to bang the drum whilst refreshing HLP’s key messages and core values.

Our Approach

Clothier Lacey & Co was tasked with developing a PR campaign to promote the profile of the practice within both the regional and national trade media with the brief:

In the first instance it’s about exposure and how this can be achieved in this region and beyond.”

We firstly developed a communications matrix, to establish the core messages and to gain agreement to what these were prior to developing a six-month plan of activities, relating to the announcement of project wins, project completions, new starters and case studies in the heritage architecture and public sector magazines.  Over the years, we have also helped to plan and manage events, while month to month, our meetings, swiftly followed by our meeting reports, identify key tasks to be undertaken.

Measurable Outcomes

We have achieved some fantastic media coverage for HL over the years, particularly in the interiors, public sector and heritage media, but of course, also in the media regional to individual projects and we are highly regarded for our commitment and results.

Clothier lacey have been an essential part of our PR strategy for the last five years to guide and help us maintain our profile in a busy marketplace.

They have excelled in their approach, ideas and creativity for HL and we trust and rely on them .
