Part of Advance Northumberland (Northumberland County Council’s economic development vehicle), Ascent Homes is passionate about creating quality housing throughout Northumberland in hand-picked locations.

Clothier Lacey has provided marketing and PR support for Ascent Homes since the start of 2017, following a successful competitive tender.  Since our appointment, we have worked on seven residential development sites across Northumberland and have undertaken public consultations on behalf of Advance Northumberland (formerly Arch Developments) for five potential development sites, producing the Statement of Community Involvement for submission with the planning application.

Our Approach

Ascent Homes is an award-winning house builder which creates high-quality homes around

Northumberland and is committed to adding value to the communities it serves by creating jobs and improving the local area.

We provide a full range of marketing a public relations support which includes

  • Development of press releases for use on website and in the media
  • Advertising and media buying
  • Communications strategy work
  • CSR – liaison with various organisations in the community to establish links
  • Photography
  • Public consultations

Our role sees us working closely with the County Council’s press office, local and regional agencies as well site staff at Ascent Homes and development site teams.

We write stories for Ascent Homes’ for publication on their website and to the local media to promote the work the housebuilder is undertaking in the region. Working with our media buyer, we provide a cost-effective schedule for Ascent Homes that we project manage to ensure their message is clear and concise at all time and that media is bought at the best possible price.

CLC is unusual as a PR company to have undertaken public consultations.  In fact, we have been involved in five consultations through Arch Developments, as it was known – the organisation that buys the land before it is formerly handed over to Ascent Homes for development.

Measurable Outcomes

Reporting to the sales and marketing director as well as the development director, we produce a quarterly activity planner for the board meeting, which details all our activities over each three-month period.

Monthly meetings shape our day to day activities for Ascent Homes and we have been instrumental in helping to create a positive climate for the team following a time of upheaval and change at County Council level.

We are regarded as an extension of the team and work very closely with Ascent Homes on all aspects of their day-to-day activities.
